March 2011 since my last post I have been extremely busy with portrait work, which I continue to enjoy greatly. During the summers, I took time off to travel to Singapore and while I was there I went over to Cambodia to see the temples of Angkor Wat (they are truly amazing) and see some of Cambodia. Then this past summer I was in Singapore and Bintan, Indonesia. I also got over to Paris during my breaks and again last month. Paris continues to be a city that greatly inspires me.
These journeys to South East Asia and Europe have been transforming both personally and artistically. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to travel and I know these experiences find there way into my paintings and portraiture somehow.
Thank you for visiting my site. It means so much to me whenever anyone connects with my work.

March 10, 2007: My McDowell grant trip was a great experience. I travelled by euro rail to Paris, Madrid, Rome, Florence, Venice, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Amsterdam and London and saw wonderful masterpieces everywhere. Some of the highlights were seeing Velasquez's paintings at the Prado, the Hugo Van der Goes triptych at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the Van Eyke triptych in the Sint-Baafskathedral in Ghent. The art was beyond what I could have imagined.

Back in New York City, I am finishing several commissions and, as always, creating new work. i'm excited about a series of small figurative paintings, some of which I will be showing on my web site in the near future.
